Where: Stock Island, Key West Botanical Garden, Monroe County - Florida

Directions to area: Take US 1 north to Stock Island from Key West.. Turn
Left on College Road and go 2 blocks. Turn Right, go past Bayshore Manor,
park behind a cement block building. Park on the left. The entrance to the
Botanical Society is on the left. Pick up a trail map from a kiosk to the
left of the entrance.

Follow the Champion Trail and go to Desbiens Pond. Continue on the trail to
Black Hole. When you reach the Black Hole, the trail ends. Turn around and
go back 32 steps, or until you reach the last exit sign (green and white).

On the right just ahead there is a buttonwood tree leaning over the path.
Go Left about 5 to 6 steps from the sign. Look R at the base of the tree
for a flat limestone rock. Remove carefully, and you should find it.

CAUTION: Carefully reach into the tangled roots of the tree to find the
box. Small creatures - geckos and snakes could be hidden in the leaves.
